Principal
horn with the Dresden Staatskapelle, Hamburg State
and Bayreuth Festival symphony orchestras. Taught
at the Music Academy in Detmold and for 36 years
at the Bavarian State Conservatory Würzburg.
He was a member of the Bayreuth Festival
Orchestra for 35 years, and earned a reputation as
a horn soloist and consistent competition winner -
he entered 10 solo competitions in his life and
won them all.
